2012 was challen...I really enjoyed this post too.

2012 was challenging for us as well. I've been a LEO wife for almost 7 years, but my hubby was gone to the police academy for 16 weeks this year. He was only home on weekends & we barely talked during the week. Then he had a 5 week FTO period when he came back. His schedule was all over the place while I was holding down the fort with our 3 children & my oldest just starting kindergarten.

I will say the academy prepares significant others to be pretty self sufficient. I had to do so many things by myself that I never thought I could & while I miss my hubby terribly when he works odd hours, I know I can keep our home together when he can't be here. It just sucks. ;)Crysihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00520953718346129190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3614728215693999887.post-64959297414325622082012-12-31T20:00:42.071-06:002012-12-31T20:00:42.071-06:00I enjoyed reading this post. :)
2012 was by far ...I enjoyed reading this post. :)

2012 was by far one of the most difficult and challenging years so far for us as well. Hubby left for the academy the first week of Jan leaving me with our barely 5 week old firstborn, while I dealt with postpartum infections as well as bad postpartum depression. He was gone 6 months (we were not allowed ANY communication the first few weeks with very limited communication after that) but was allowed 24-48 hrs home in weekends.

Then it was FTO, and after that the learning of hubby being on his own and the ever changing shifts/schedules. I think we're still trying to learn how to juggle family life/marriage/work but the last month has definitely been better.

God taught me a LOT this last year and brought me much closer to Him. And I'm extremely grateful for all my family, friends and bloggers who helped me through the year. :)

All that to say....I'm very glad this year is behind me and 2013 is here. :)

-GretchenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
